Our Story
Welcome! My name is Brittany, and I’m the founder of Tropical Tallow. My husband, Alex, and I handcraft small batches of nourishing tallow balms out of our home in Southwest Florida. We moved from Minnesota to Florida for the sunshine and tropical lifestyle, and wanted to put our roots down and raise our children here.
After going through Hurricane Ian in September 2022, we realized life is too short to sit back and wait. That’s when we decided to follow our dream of creating health balms made with quality ingredients. After experimenting and sharing samples online—with lots of positive feedback—we took the leap and started our small business.
Tropical Tallow officially launched in 2023, and since then, we’ve shipped over 10,000 orders. We’ve learned a lot along the way and look forward to creating more nourishing products for you in the future!
Where It All Started
I’ve been on a health journey for years (you can follow along on Instagram @healingwithbritt). I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis while pregnant with our first child back in 2016. Over the years, I’ve tried it all—and along the way, I fell in love with the benefits of tallow and animal products through the work of Weston A. Price.
Through both research and experience, I’ve learned that the body can heal when it has the right support. Tallow is packed with nutrients and is incredibly nourishing for our skin. We use tallow as the base for our products and enhance it with additional ingredients to support the body through absorption via the skin—our largest organ.
What you put on your body matters, and we’re so excited to share these natural, nutrient-dense products with you!
A Little About Us
My husband, Alex, manages our website, shipping, business operations, and emails—and he’s also our official scent tester (he has very high standards!). I formulate our products, handcraft the balms, manage social media, and provide customer support—I love interacting with all of you!
When we aren’t in the kitchen making balms or shipping orders, you can usually find us exploring Southwest Florida with our two children, soaking up the sun at the beach, and living each day to the fullest.
